Comment on a request

Ask a question or explain something on a waiting request, and mention someone with @ so they're told.

Sometimes a request needs a word of explanation: why the bill is higher this month, or which building the task is for. Every request has its own comments, so the sender and the approver can talk it through before anyone decides.

Add a comment#

  1. Open My approvals (or My requests) in the menu.

  2. Find the request and click Comments on its card.

  3. Type your comment in the box.

  4. To tell someone in particular, type @ and pick their name from the list.

  5. Click Comment.

You'll see Posted. If you mentioned someone, it says Posted. Dana Brooks will be notified. (or how many people will be).

Click Hide comments to close the conversation again.

Who is told#

  • People you mention with @ get a notification, an email (… mentioned you on …) with a Reply in Plainstamp button, and a phone notification if they've turned those on.

  • The person who sent the request, the admin it's waiting for, and anyone who already commented get a quieter notification on the Notifications page: … commented on ….

A worker is only told about requests they can see, so mentioning a worker on someone else's request doesn't reach them.

After the request is decided#

The comments stay with the request. You can still open them from the card on the Approvals page for 60 days, and they're included in the Audit PDF of the request and of the entry it created. See See who asked for and approved something.

Delete a comment#

Click Delete next to the comment. Only the person who wrote it, or an admin, can delete a comment.
