I can't add or change anything

If you can open every page but can't add, edit, approve or pay anything, it's one of three things. The banner at the top of the page, or the message you see when you try, tells you which.

"Your free trial has ended, so this workspace is read-only"#

Every new workspace gets 3 free months. If they end without a plan being chosen (or a paid plan is cancelled and runs out), the workspace becomes read-only:

• Everyone can still sign in and look at everything, and download files and reports.

• Nothing can be added, changed, approved or paid. If you try, you see "Your free trial has ended. Choose a plan to keep adding and changing things."

• Nothing is deleted yet. The banner shows the date the workspace will be deleted if it stays read-only (6 months after it became read-only).

To fix it: the owner clicks Choose a plan in the banner (or opens Plan & billing) and picks any plan, Starter included. The workspace works again as soon as the payment goes through. If you're not the owner, let them know. See Your 3-month free trial.

"This workspace is paused"#

Plainstamp has paused the workspace, often because a payment didn't go through. You can look at everything, but if you try to change something you see "This workspace is paused. Nothing can be changed." The owner fixes it from Go to billing in the banner. See The workspace is paused.

"You have view-only access"#

If there's no banner, look at your role under your name at the bottom of the menu.

• View only can look at the boards but can't add, change or comment.

• Accountant can see the books, reports and files and comment, but can't add or change entries.
